H.H. Pope Tawadros II

Place of Birth: El-Mansoura, Egypt

Grown up in Damanhour, Egypt

Graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Alexandria, 1975

Monasticism: July 31, 1988 at St. Bishoy Monastery

Served in Damanhour as a priest under the auspices of H.E. Metropolitan Bakhomious from 1990 – 1997

Ordained as a General Bishop in El-Bohera on June 15, 1997

Was in charge of Children Committee of the Holy Synod

As H.H. and Fr. Abraham Azmy are grown up as sons of H.E. Metropolitan Bakhomious, H.H. visited Fr. Abraham Azmy in the U.S.A. twice in 2008 and 2010. In both times H.H. visited our church and stayed in the State of Connecticut. He gave lectures, visited the congregation of  Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael Church of Connecticut, visited our youths on UCONN campus, and ordained many deacons. In 2010, H.H. conducted the first Children Convention in the North East of the U.S.A.

Chosen by the Grace of God to be the 118th Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria on November 4, 2012, on his holiness birthday.
