Our Lord may He be glorified also said: "And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’
I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham" [Matthew 3:9].
What did the sons of Samuel acquire from the honor of their father, if not his virtue? [1 Samuel: 1-5].
What did the sons of Prophet Moses gain when they did not behave like him?
Were their reign not taken from them and given to others? [Leviticus 31: 14 and 23].
What harm did Timothy suffer because his father was an atheist from Galatia [Acts 16: 1-3].
What did Ham the son of Noah take from his father's virtue when he became a slave instead of a free man? [Genesis 9: 20-27].
Did not the sin he chose win over the legacy of his nature?
Esau was the eldest over Jacob by nature and his father endeavored to put him ahead and bless him.
He also endeavored to get his father's blessings but because he was evil and God was not with him,
all of this did him no good and he could not prevent his brother from taking the lead and the blessings.
It was choice which brought the one who was behind and took the lead from who had come ahead. [Genesis 27: 1-40].
