MODEL OF REPENTANT PEOPLE
David the Prophet and King: (2 Samuel 11-12)
David looked at a woman who was bathing and his heart was filled with lust and he could not resist sin.
Sin enslaved him without pity and made him fall in two terrible crimes: the sins of adultery and killing.
However, God’s great mercy interfered and sent him Nathan, the prophet, to rebuke him.
David then confessed his sin in humility and with a broken heart.
God accepted his true repentance by forgiving him.
Nathan told David, “The LORD has put away your sin; you shall not die.” (2 Samuel 12:13)
In spite of that, David wept for his sins and wet his bed with his tears.
He cried out saying, “My sin is ever before me.”
